painting without colour is a challenge and a contradiction - my images are formed by textural contrast and light rather than colour.
i use a variety of paints and materials to create mixed surfaces. i like to explore methods of application - paint is squeezed, dripped and scraped onto the canvas, but rarely brushed.
my subject matter is inspired by natural cell structure. the forms suit the organic nature of the techniques I use, whilst creating contrast to the sterility of pure whiteness.
